Celebrity Look-alike? (NOT for sensitive people)

Now and then, I’ve been noted that I look like someone: someone famous or relatively well known. Sadly, I have no respect for any of these people that I apparently look like, nor do I really bare any resemblance to them. 

 

Back when I was 18, I was compared to an amateur porn actress in an online home-video.  Apparently the glasses she was wearing in the home-made porn reminded that person of me. THAT and she was asian.  Gee… how…. ummm… flattering.

 

Recently, someone compared me to a "Tila Tequila", a Vietnamese-American playboy covergirl.  Google her, and you’ll see she’s a hottie, but still….she’s a model that fits the stereotype (IE. lacks intelligence – especially in the interviews). A little bit better than an amateur porn actress, but still, I see no resemblance. I guess I’m flattered….I think. Personally, unless there’s a calendar of Canada’s hottest scientists, and I’m in it, I’m pretty averse to posing for nude or semi-nude pictures. Being compared to a nude model doesn’t exactly do wonders for my self confidence.

 

(Just so you know, the people who have compared me to these girls have NEVER seen me naked.)

 

I guess, the closest celebrity I can think of (that I DON’T mind being compared to) is Gong Li (from Memoirs of a Geisha).  I have a picture of me in my photo album, taken by Jordan on the weekend trip to his barn, that mildly resembles her in one of Sally Yip’s music videos (from 1990-something). But that’s just a comparison made by me…so it doesn’t really count. I also wouldn’t be averse to being compared to Margaret Cho and/or Sandra Oh.  But that’s definitely not as interesting as being compared to porn or nude models.

 

So, just because I’m asian and have glasses doesn’t mean I do wild sex acts online (dressed like a schoolgirl while riding a pony with a large double-ended dildo in one hand and a vibrating butt-plug in the other, all the while making out with another chick).  (Funny I can write all this without being censored, but when I write the synonym for "donkey", I can’t publish my blog-entry).  So please, don’t generalize, just because SOME asian girls pose for fetish magazines – it doesn’t mean we ALL do.  My asian girlfriends and I will thank you for NOT comparing us to those loose girls online, regardless of how hot they are.
